The EliStu project offers student parents the opportunity to leave their child in student care for a short time during the day at the university so that they can attend events or make urgent visits to the library. The offer is exclusively for students of Leuphana University, so students from other universities and employees of Leuphana cannot take advantage of this offer. If you need emergency childcare, please contact the Family Service.
From Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., students have the opportunity to bring their children to the EliStu childcare center (please note: prior registration via the office is required!). Children aged 6 months to primary school age are cared for in C3.006 by trained and state-approved educators or social education assistants who are themselves studying at the University of Lüneburg. Exceptions can be arranged with us.
The costs amount to a one-off registration fee of €25 per child, which serves as a deposit and is refunded at the end of the childcare period. The cost of childcare is €2.50 per 2 hours and is charged on the basis of ten tickets for €25, which cover 10×2 hours of childcare. A maximum of 4 hours of care per day and on 2-3 days, with a maximum of 10 hours of care per week, is possible. Since the winter semester 2022/23, siblings pay a joint sibling fee of €2.50 per hour of childcare instead of a single sibling fee of €2.50 per child.
As a rule, a settling-in period takes place before childcare begins, which can last from one week to three weeks, for which a one-off settling-in fee of €5 is charged.
Please note that our supervisors are not entitled to preselection rights and therefore their timetables will not be finalized until the start of the semester. For this reason, childcare times can be discussed in advance, but firm commitments can only be made at the beginning of the semester.
We will be happy to provide you with further information during our office hours. Registrations and further information are possible by e-mail .
