Spokespeople Collective

The AStA (General Students’ Committee) spokesperson collective currently consists of four spokespeople. That’s us: Eli (sie/ihr), Fine (sie/ihr), Johannes (er/ihm) und Marius (he/they).

This is us:

Eli (she/her) is in her sixth semester studying education (German & Science) and has been involved in the StuPa for the past year. During our term of office, she is responsible for PR, finances and the semester ticket refund, among other things.

Fine (she/her) is studying Indi (Studium Individuale) in her sixth semester and has found her way from the StuPa to the AStA. Among other things, she is responsible for connecting the AStA, both within voluntary groups in Lüneburg and with other student bodies in Lower Saxony and Germany.

Johannes (he/him) has been studying GESS at the University of Lüneburg for two years, has also started in the StuPa and has now arrived in the AStA via the Vakuum. In the coming year, his focus will be on working within the AStA and supporting TVStud Lüneburg, along with other activities.

Marius (he/they) is passionately studying political science in his fourth semester. As the theory of politics is not enough, he thought he needed to assert himself in practice and therefore applied for this great position. Marius will also be responsible for PR, as well as looking after the student representatives and events.

These are our tasks:

We were elected by the Student Parliament (StuPa) on 21 June 2023 and our task is to represent the student body in its political, social and cultural affairs towards the public and the various groups at the university. We regularly hold discussions with various people and groups at the university in order to find out about the latest developments and advocate for your interests. We do this not only with the university, but also with the city, the state and the federal government.

We also network with other ASten. We do this at state level in the State Students’ Conference (LAK) and at federal level in the Free Association of Student Organisations (fzs).

Our day-to-day work primarily involves the organisation, coordination and administration of the AStA. We are the employers of the numerous employees in the AStA and support the departments. Every Thursday at 12 p.m. there is therefore an AStA meeting with all speakers, in which current topics are discussed that primarily concern the AStA with its departments or the university in general. These meetings take place in the MuFuZi in building 9 and are open to the public. Interested parties are therefore always welcome!

We also organise political events and campaigns – often in cooperation with the AStA departments and university initiatives. We are also mainly responsible for organising the annual Freshers’ Party and the AStA Summer Festival (the Summer Open Air).

On the whole, we are the interface between the student body and all other members of the university. Feel free to contact us if you have any questions or problems. Most of the time we can help you directly, otherwise we know who we need to consult to help you.
