All information about the Germany Semester Ticket (DSemTix)
Since 2024/25 winter semester, the semester ticket will become the digital Germany ticket! The purpose of the semester ticket is to improve student mobility at the university location and beyond. With the Germany semester ticket, you will now be able to travel throughout Germany.

The semester ticket is available digitally via the Leuphana University app. You can download the app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Starting in the winter semester 24/25, all important information for you and your studies will be available in this app.
How to Deutschlandticket in the Leuphana App?
- Download the Leuphana University app from your preferred app store.
- Tap the ‘Student…’ button in the top left corner.
- Tap Sign In
- Log in with your student email address () and your password.
- If your registration does not work immediately, please renew your request using the button.
- Et voilà, your student ID is now available on your mobile phone with just one click.
- Tap the ‘Deutschlandticket’ button to display the QR code for your ticket.
- The ticket is valid in conjunction with your current photo ID. Offline, the ticket can be used for 14 days after the last update, after which you must update it again.

What is the DSemTix and how can I buy it?
DSemTix is a nationwide offer for student unions that provides a semester ticket valid for all public transport within Germany. The ticket is purchased jointly by all students as a solidarity model. This means that all students receive the Germany semester ticket at a lower price than the regular Germany ticket. The DSemTix is included in the semester fee and therefore does not need to be purchased separately.
The DSemTix replaces the previous Lower Saxony semester ticket.

What does the DSemTix cost?
DSemTix is linked to the price of the Deutschlandticket and costs 60% of the current Deutschlandticket price. Currently, the DSemTix costs €34.80 per month, or €208.80 per semester. These costs are included in the semester fee. If the Deutschlandticket (currently €59/month) becomes more expensive in the future, this link will remain in place.
How is DSemTix offered?
DSemTix is a purely digital ticket service and can be accessed via the Leuphana University app. Students who are unable to access the ticket digitally can apply for a chip card. However, the number of chip cards available is very limited, which is why we can only order them for students who have no other way of accessing DSemTix. Once the chip card has been issued, the digital semester ticket will be blocked.

Are there refunds and hardship regulations?
It will still be possible to have the DSemTix refunded in cases of hardship. Students who do not fall under the hardship regulations cannot have their ticket refunded under any circumstances.
