End of Linda and Kevin’s term of office
Last updated 5. March 2025 | Sprecherinnen
Dear students,
dear members of the university and everyone else,
After a turbulent term of office, we have now familiarized ourselves with the new AStA and handed over the offices.
The previous year in office was characterized by many resignations for various reasons, but also by some successful projects and exciting, fun events. Last but not least, the time was also characterized by the search for successors, which went very well and makes us very optimistic about the time ahead.
Léa Oltmanns, Laura Steck and Linda Macfalda were elected as AStA spokespersons at the beginning of the term of office. Following the resignations of Léa and Laura, Julius Flinks was elected in January and Kevin Kunze, who was already AStA spokesperson in 2012, stepped in at the end of March.
Julius Flinks is also part of the new speaker collective. So this is where we, Linda and Kevin, want to say goodbye to the office. Despite some turbulence, the term of office was very instructive, fun and has further improved student representation at the university. Some of our highlights were:
- A great start with the successful first-year party “Tanzdisziplinär”
- the organization of the gesellschaft.macht.geschlechts-Aktionstage in November together with other AStA activists
- the establishment of the nationwide semester ticket
- the negotiations on the continuation of StadtRad Lüneburg
- the work on the anthology “A University for the 21st Century?” as a critical commemorative publication for Leuphana’s anniversary, the release event and the constructive exchange with the university afterwards
- the publication of the reader “Countering discrimination”
- the very successful AStA Summer Open Air in June
- the impetus for the new AStA website
- the conception of a student café in building 9
- cooperation in supra-regional alliances such as the LandesAStenKonferenz and the Free Association of Student Unions (fzs)
- and the exchange with the many stakeholders at the university in order to further improve campus life and studies. This includes the FGVs and student councils, the DSI and the initiatives, the university administration, the Student Union, the Presidential Board, the StuPa and all other interlocutors and committed people at the university.
Linda is now working on her Bachelor’s degree.
From September 1, Kevin will be active as a board member of the nationwide student representation fzs and represents student interests vis-à-vis federal political actors, supports state student representations and student bodies in northern Germany. He is also preparing his Master’s thesis.
We wish Merten, Lena, Katharina and Julius a wonderful, successful and enriching term of office and would like to thank everyone who has worked with us over the past few months.
Have a great vacation, successful exams and an eager start to the new semester!
Linda Macfalda and Kevin Kunze
