Queere Ringvorlesung: Wie sehr prägt ein unbewusster Gender Bias unser Leben – und welche Rolle spielt Werbung dabei? – Vortrag // 12.06. 🤳
Werfen wir einen kritischen Blick auf Gendermarketing und wie tief verankerte Geschlechterklischees unser Denken und Handeln beeinflussen – in allen Lebensbereichen. Ob in der Kindererziehung, im Berufsleben oder bei der Aufgabenverteilung im Haushalt: Stereotype Geschlechterbilder wirken subtil, aber wirkungsvoll. Was dazu beiträgt, dass sich diese Rollen verfestigen und Gleichberechtigung aktiv verhindert wird, das erfahrt ihr im interaktiven digitalen Vortrag mit Tina Lüderitz von Klische*esc. Coraci Filmscreening: Futur Drei – eine postmigrantische, queere Coming-of-Age-Geschichte // 13.06. 💫 [auf Deutsch/Farsi mit englischen Untertiteln]
In diesem künstlerisch berührenden Debüt von Faraz Shariat begleiten wir Parvis, den Sohn iranischer Einwanderer, bei seiner Suche nach Identität, Liebe und Zugehörigkeit in einer deutschen Kleinstadt. Durch Popkultur, Grindr-Kontakte, Raves und unerwartete Freundschaften mit Amon sowie Banafshe in einem Flüchtlingsheim verstrickt sich Parvis in ein fragiles Liebesdreieck, das mit der Zeit offenbart, wie ungleich ihre individuellen Zukunftsaussichten in Deutschland sind. Queere Ringvorlesung: Queer as Volk: The Far-Right’s Queer Faces and the Limits of Liberal Analysis – Workshop // 16.06. ✊ [in English]
This workshop examines German-Hungarian right-wing collaborations—both historical and contemporary—focusing on examples such as the cooperation between the Saxon LKA and the Hungarian judiciary in the Antifa trials surrounding Maja T. The second half of the session invites participants into an interactive analysis of counter-narratives and resistance strategies. Through collective exploration of resistance aesthetics, slogans, and memes, the workshop analyzes which narratives genuinely subvert authoritarian logic, and which inadvertently reproduce right-wing messaging or victimhood. The goal is to identify more effective strategies for cultural and political opposition.

Juni tagen um 16.00 Uhr in der Ritterakademie die Kulturausschüsse von Stadt und Landkreis. In dieser Sitzung geht es erfreulicherweise um die dreijährige Absicherung des Theaters als 3-Sparten-Haus! Jedoch soll auch die sozialverträgliche Verkleinerung des Orchesters beschlossen werden! Bei ohnehin nur 29 Stellen würde das ein langsames Sterben bedeuten und es gäbe NOCH weniger Festanstellungen für Hochschulabsolvent:innen. Bitte kommt ab 15:30 zur Demo und unterstützt uns!!! Mahnwache Keine A39 vom KlimaKollektiv // 15.06. ❌
Es wird leider immer noch eine neue Autobahn zwischen Lüneburg und Wolfsburg geplant. Das bedeutet eine mehr als 100 km neue breite Straße für noch mehr Autoverkehr und für Milliarden Euro – Geld das eigentlich dringend für den Ausbau des ÖPNV gebraucht wird. Das Lüner Holz ist ein Waldgebiet ca. 2 km von der Innenstadt entfernt, wo viele Bäume gefällt werden sollen, um die Autobahn zu bauen. Rassistische und antisemitische Polizei-Chats, Machtmissbrauch im Amt, Racial Profiling, weit verzweigte rechtsextreme Netzwerke, tödliche Polizeigewalt – laut Innenministerien und Sicherheitsbehörden alles nur Einzelfälle. Doch basierend auf repräsentativen Studien, langjährigen investigativen Recherchen und persönlichen Erlebnissen deckt Mohamed Amjahid auf, wie tief das Polizeiproblem in Deutschlands Sicherheitsarchitektur verwurzelt ist. Akademische Gremienwahlen: Wahlhelfer*innen für die Wahlaussicht gesuchtg // 24.-26.06. 💌
für die Durchführung der akademischen Gremienwahlen vom 24.-26. Juni werden noch Wahlhelfer*innen benötigt, die für ca. 1,5-2 Stunden (gerne auch länger) im Wahllokal die Wahlaufsicht übernehmen. Die Wahlen werden in einem abgegrenzten Teil der Mensa durchgeführt. Geplant sind für die Wahl zum Senat und zu den Fakultätsräte zwei Tische so dass mehrerer Wahlhelfer*innen benötigt werden, die für einen geregelten Ablauf im Wahllokal sorgen. Die Aufsichtführenden sollen aus verschiedenen Statusgruppen stammen. Gern bis zum 17.06. unter melden.

Am Pfingstsonntag, den 8. Juni um 15:00 Uhr lädt das Museum Lüneburg zu einer englischsprachigen Themenführung ein. Unter dem Titel „English Tour of International Connections and Conceptions in the Museum“ erhalten Besucher*innen die Gelegenheit, die Ausstellung aus einer internationalen Perspektive zu erleben. Von römischem Tafelgeschirr, das in den Gräbern germanischer Söldner gefunden wurde, bis hin zu detailreichen Landkarten wie der Ebstorfer Landkarte – zahlreiche Objekte im Museum erzählen von globalem Handel, Fernreisen und internationalen Gelehrtennetzwerken. Was können diese Exponate über die Geschichte und Entwicklung Lüneburgs und die Einstellung der Bewohner*innen zur Welt verraten?

Ruth Hoffmann: “Das deutsche Alibi. Mythos Stauffenberg-Attentat – wie der 20. Juli 1944 verklärt und politisch instrumentalisiert wird“ 📖 // 11.06.
Die Journalistin Ruth Hoffmann unternimmt eine umfassende und längst überfällige Dekonstruktion des Mythos „Stauffenberg-Attentat“ und zeichnet nach, wie der 20. Juli seit Gründung der Bundesrepublik politisch instrumentalisiert wird: mal um sich gegen die DDR abzusetzen und kommunistische Widerständler zu diffamieren; mal um Politiker*innen, die mit dem NS-Regime kollaboriert hatten, eine Nähe zum Widerstand anzudichten; oder, wie neuerdings die AfD, um die eigene Demokratiefeindlichkeit mit einem angeblichen Widerstandsgeist in der Tradition Stauffenbergs zu kaschieren. „Das deutsche Alibi“ wurde mit dem Sachbuchpreis der ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS 2024 ausgezeichnet und war für den Deutschen Sachbuchpreis und den NDR Sachbuchpreis nominiert.

Prinz Philipp lebt ein sorgenfreies Leben am Hof, doch er ist von der Monotonie gelangweilt. Um für Abwechslung zu sorgen, beschließt er, die bürgerliche, schweigsame und unscheinbare Yvonne zu heiraten – sehr zum Entsetzen der Hofgesellschaft. Yvonne passt nicht in die Welt des Adels: Sie ist still, unansehnlich und reagiert nicht auf Spott oder Grausamkeit. Gerade dieses beharrliche Schweigen bringt Unruhe, Angst und Aggression in die höfische Welt. Die Gesellschaft beginnt, sich selbst zu entlarven. In Yvonne, die Burgunderprinzessin entlarvt Gombrowicz mit beißendem Humor die Angst vor dem Anderen und legt die Abgründe einer scheinbar heilen Gesellschaft offen.

Demonstration for the Lüneburg Symphony Orchestra! Important decisions about culture in Lüneburg! // 11.06. 🎶
Dear friends of the Lüneburg Symphony Orchestra and Theater Lüneburg, dear music fans and curious people! On Wednesday, June 11 at 4pm, the cultural committees of the city and district will meet in the Ritterakademie. Fortunately, this meeting will focus on securing the theater as a 3-division house for three years! However, the socially responsible downsizing of the orchestra is also to be decided! With only 29 positions anyway, this would mean a slow death and there would be EVEN fewer permanent positions for university graduates. Please come to the demonstration from 3:30pm and support us!!! A new motorway between Lüneburg and Wolfsburg is still being planned. This means a new road of more than 100 km for more car traffic and for billions of euros – money that is actually urgently needed for the expansion of public transport. The Lüner Holz is a forst about 2km from the city centre where many trees are to be felled for the motorway. Come by and find out over coffee and cake how we can prevent the motorway A39. Racist and anti-Semitic police chats, abuse of power in office, racial profiling, widespread right-wing extremist networks, deadly police violence – according to interior ministries and security authorities, these are all just isolated cases. But based on representative studies, years of investigative research, and personal experiences, Mohamed Amjahid reveals how deeply rooted the police problem is in Germany’s security architecture.

Academic committee elections: Election helpers wanted for the election prospect // June 24-26 💌
For the academic committee elections from June 24-26, we still need election assistants to supervise the elections for approx. 1.5-2 hours (or longer) in the polling station. The elections will be held in a separate part of the canteen. Two tables are planned for the elections to the Senate and the Faculty Councils so that several election assistants are needed to ensure that everything runs smoothly in the polling station. The supervisors should come from different status groups. Please register by 17.06. at .

English-language Sunday story: International perspectives at Museum Lüneburg // 08.06. 🖼️

On Pentecost Sunday, June 8 at 3pm, the Museum Lüneburg invites you to an English-language themed tour. Under the title “English Tour of International Connections and Conceptions in the Museum”, visitors will have the opportunity to experience the exhibition from an international perspective. From Roman tableware found in the graves of Germanic mercenaries to detailed maps such as the Ebstorf map – numerous objects in the museum tell of global trade, long-distance travel and international networks of scholars. What can these exhibits reveal about the history and development of Lüneburg and the attitude of its inhabitants towards the world?

Ruth Hoffmann: “The German alibi. The Stauffenberg assassination myth – how July 20, 1944 is glorified and politically instrumentalized” 📖 // 11.06. [in German]

Journalist Ruth Hoffmann undertakes a comprehensive and long overdue deconstruction of the “Stauffenberg assassination” myth and traces how the 20th of July has been politically instrumentalized since the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany. July has been politically instrumentalized since the founding of the Federal Republic of Germany: sometimes to distance oneself from the GDR and defame communist resisters; sometimes to accuse politicians who collaborated with the Nazi regime of being close to the resistance; or, as has recently been the case with the AfD, to conceal one’s own hostility to democracy with an alleged spirit of resistance in the tradition of Stauffenberg. “Das deutsche Alibi” was awarded the non-fiction prize of the ZEIT STIFTUNG BUCERIUS 2024 and was nominated for the German Non-Fiction Prize and the NDR Non-Fiction Prize.

Prince Philip lives a carefree life at court, but he is bored of the monotony. To change things up, he decides to marry the bourgeois, taciturn and inconspicuous Yvonne – much to the dismay of court society. Yvonne does not fit into the world of the nobility: she is quiet, unprepossessing and does not react to ridicule or cruelty. It is precisely this persistent silence that brings unrest, fear and aggression into the courtly world. Society begins to expose itself. In Yvonne, Princess of Burgundy, Gombrowicz exposes the fear of the Other with biting humor and reveals the abysses of a seemingly intact society.
