Tomorrow the city council will decide to declare Lüneburg a safe harbor. In order to hopefully influence the city councillors positively, a rally will take place tomorrow at 16:00 on the market square. Afterwards, the city council meeting will take place at – 17:00 in the IGS Kreideberg [Thorner Str. 14].
Come along to support the initiative and demonstrate for more serious humanism and a treatment of refugees worthy of the EU.

GEGENDEMO AfD-PARTEITAG
This weekend, the AfD is hosting its national party conference in Braunschweig. The AfD is known for its racist and fascist statements. Not only is our general social life at risk from right-wing extremist parties, but also the freedom and independence of science. The lack of deligitimization by the scientific community has already helped to pave the way for such ideas. This is a clear reason to take a stand against this party. We therefore call on you to go to Braunschweig on November 30th for the counter demonstration. The kick-off rally will be at Europa Platz at 9 a.m., then the large demonstration will begin. you can find more information at https://buendnisgegenrechts.net/
STUDENT EQUAL OPPORTUNITY REPRESENTATIVE AT THE FACULTIES
The student members of the Senate have initiated the appointment of a student equal opportunities officer in every faculty from 01.04.2020. Our three student senators will keep you up to date on this at https://t.me/studisimsenat.
They will, for example, be the contact person for student members of the respective faculty for equality issues. Other tasks include, for example, participating in faculty committees or recruitment and appointment procedures as well as contributing to the faculty’s position paper and the university’s Equal Opportunities Council.
UPDATE RPO-DEMO AND STUDENT INITIATIVE
Thanks to the student initiative initiated by the student members of the Senate and your support, the restrictive proposal for framework examination regulations with, among other things, compulsory attendance in seminars and the abolition of the second examination phase, as planned for the summer semester 2019, will not be implemented. At the last Senate meeting, mainly necessary formal changes were voted on, which do not affect the points we criticized, and your students in the Senate have initiated a discussion process to find a better alternative for everyone involved on the fundamental issues [e.g. jointly organized seminars]. To this end, various event formats will be planned and held in January.
You can find more information on their Telegram channel [ https://t.me/studisimsenat ] or in their MyStudy newsletter. If you have any further questions or would like to get involved, you can also send an email to .
