***** Commemoration of the liberation of the Ausschwitz concentration camp on 27.01 ******

No forgiveness – no forgetting. So that Auschwitz will not be again!
On January 27, 1945 – 75 years ago – the Auschwitz extermination camp was liberated by the Soviet Red Army. This put an end to the mass murder of European Jews in particular by the Nazis.
Since then, Auschwitz has been a symbol of the destruction of human life and an incomparable crime committed by the Germans. One and a half million people – including almost 1.3 million Jews, 23,000 Roma and Sinti, 15,000 Soviet prisoners of war and 20,000 anti-fascist resistance fighters of various nationalities – were murdered in Auschwitz. When the Red Army liberated Auschwitz, it found only 7,000 surviving prisoners.
On the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, we want to commemorate the millions of victims of German fascism. We also dedicate our remembrance to all survivors and those who resisted fascism and fought for the liberation of Europe.
January 27 has been an official day of remembrance in Germany since 1996. The purpose of this day of remembrance is stated in the proclamation: to keep the memory alive, to urge vigilance and to counteract any danger of repetition.https://www.facebook.com/events/1024624184569792/

***** Deckname Jenny *****
The AStA departments PENG! and AntiRa are organizing a screening of a political film on Friday, 24.01.2020, in the Infocafé Anna&Arthur (Katzenstraße 2, Lüneburg). The movie “Deckname Jenny” will be shown, free of charge.
“A shift to the right is sweeping the country. Jenny’s gang is fed up. And takes action. But when Jenny’s father finds out about their militant ambitions, he has to face up to his past as a member of an urban guerrilla group. And suddenly things get tight for everyone…”
Code Name Jenny is more than just a political feature film. While fiction and documentary repeatedly blur, the film openly breaks with the dramaturgical habits of a feature film and establishes its own style. Shot with almost no money and produced without market orientation, Deckname Jenny makes a statement against racism, homophobia and a “Fortress Europe.”
