Ein Bürger:innenrat bringt Menschen aus allen Ecken der Stadt zusammen, die sonst vielleicht nie miteinander ins Gespräch kommen würden. Gemeinsam beschäftigen sie sich mit einem wichtigen Thema für unsere Stadt. Sie hören Expert:innen, diskutieren, tauschen sich aus – und entwickeln konkrete Empfehlungen für die Politik. Mit welchem Thema soll sich der Lüneburger Bürger:innenrat in diesem Jahr befassen? Die Stadtverwaltung sammelt jetzt Themenvorschläge für die nächste Runde. Vom 12. Januar bis zum 22. Februar 2026 können Bürgerinnen und Bürger Ideen einreichen. Mehr hier

Lust auf ein Ehrenamt in der Studierendenschaft? // 11.02. 🤝
Du möchtest die Interessen der Studierendenschaft aktiv vertreten und Einblicke in hochschulnahe Entscheidungsprozesse erhalten? Dann bewirb dich als studentisches Mitglied im Verwaltungsrat des Studierendenwerks OstNiedersachsen. Das Amt umfasst die Teilnahme an drei Sitzungen pro Jahr in Braunschweig, die Vorbereitung und Mitentscheidung bei geschäftlichen Fragen sowie den Austausch mit den Sprecherinnen der Studierendenschaft. Für jede Sitzung gibt es ein Sitzungsgeld von 50 Euro. Bewerbungen sind bis zur Wahl am 11. Februar 2025 möglich und frühzeitig erwünscht.

Bei unserem offenen Treffen stellen wir uns allen Interessierten neu vor! So starten wir mit frischen Ideen und neuen Projekten in die VL-freie-Zeit. Der perfekte Zeitpunkt um einfach mal reinzuschnuppern! Wir freuen uns über Zuwachs in unserem (Netzwerk). Denn es braucht Austausch- und Empowermenträume für Studierende mit Behinderung chronischer Erkrankung, sowie neurodivergenter und psychisch erkrankter Studierende. Kommt also gerne mit Interesse und Ideen vorbei und schreibt uns bei Fragen, gerne!

Abschied von der Leuphana! // 09.02. 🎤
Nach 31 Jahren Forschung und Lehre verlässt Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart die Universität. Dazu wird es kommenden Montag von 15-18 Uhr ein wiss. Syposium stattfinden mit einer Abschiedsvorlesung zum Thema “Nachhaltigkeit, Kreislaufwirtschaft und Cradle to Cradle – wie passt das zusammen?”. Ab 19:30 wird es ein Konzert der Jewish Monkeys als Zeichen gegen Antisemitismus, für Weltoffenheit, Toleranz und Nächstenliebe geben. Bringt gut Laune und Freunde und Bekannte mit!

BLACK SCREEN – Filmreihe über Schwarze Perspektiven // 12.02. 📺
Na, Lust auf Kino? Im Rahmen des Black History Month präsentiert die Kuratorin und Kulturwissenschaftsstudentin Naomi Jane Denis vom 12.02. bis zum 05.03. in ihrer Filmreihe BLACK SCREEN im SCALA Programmkino Lüneburg ausgewählte Filme, die die filmische Repräsentation Schwarzer Figuren in den Vordergrund rücken. Den Anfang macht Moonlight (OmU) am 12.02. um 19:30. Eine Kooperation mit dem Leuphana Afro Collective.

Hallo Unipeoples, frisches, saisonales, faires Biogemüse zum wöchentlichen Abholen im Commonszentrum gefällig? Wir aus dem Ginsterbusch melden uns bei euch mit noch 30 freien Gemüseanteilen zum Saisonstart ab April 2026! Wir versuchen mit unserer Solawi eine Alternative zur kapitalistischen Wirtschaftsweise herzustellen. Wir versuchen seit acht Jahren, Landwirtschaft und Gemüsebau neu und anders zu denken. Wir stehen für eine solidarische, antifaschistische, vielfältige und nachhaltige Bewirtschaftung unseres (und bald schon auch eures?) Ackers. Im April steigt ihr ein und bekommt von uns frisches Gemüse, direkt von unserem schönen Acker, immer dienstags. Meldet euch doch gerne am besten bis zum 15.02. für Infos! . Am 02.03. um 18:30 Uhr findet auch eure Vollversammlung statt.

Themenführung im Museum Lüneburg „ÜBERWUNDEN – Tattoos auf Narben der Vergangenheit“ // 08.02. 🖌️
Das Museum lädt zur Sonntagsgeschichte ein. Kurator Jannik Sachweh, Leiter des Krankenhaus-Museums am Klinikum Bremen-Ost, führt durch die Sonderausstellung „ÜBERWUNDEN – Tattoos auf Narben der Vergangenheit“ und gibt vertiefende Einblicke in ihre Entstehung und Inhalte. In seiner Themenführung wirft Sachweh Blicke in die Kulturgeschichte von Tattoos als Kunst und den Zusammenhang von Kultur und Gesundheit in der Gegenwart. Der Historiker geht auf den Wandel im Umgang mit psychischer Gesundheit sowie Prozesse der Stigmatisierung und Normalisierung ein. Als Kurator der Ausstellung und Leiter des Krankenhaus-Museums Bremen gibt Jannik Sachweh Einblicke in die Entstehung der Ausstellung und ihre kuratorische Idee.

Lesung im Museum Lüneburg: Autorin und Künstlerin Ursula Blancke-Dau liest aus ihrer Graphic Novel „Klaus“ // 11.02. 📚
Das Museum Lüneburg läd zu einer Lesung mit Ursula Blancke-Dau ein. Die vielseitige Künstlerin Ursula Blancke-Dau ist nicht nur Fotografin, Malerin, Grafikerin und Installationskünstlerin, sondern auch Illustratorin. Im Mai 2025 erschien ihre Graphic Novel „Klaus – noch einmal davongekommen. Eine Jugend unterm Hakenkreuz“ in der Schriftenreihe des Museums Lüneburg.  Darin erzählt sie die Geschichte ihres Vaters, der 1945 kurz vor Kriegsende mit  16 Jahren zum Wehrdienst einberufen wurde und schließlich in sowjetische Kriegsgefangenschaft geriet. Seine selbst verfassten Erinnerungen dienten ihr dabei als Grundlage. „Sie haben nicht darüber gesprochen. Sie wollten nicht, sie konnten nicht. Sie haben verdrängt. Aber nachts in ihren Träumen hat es sie eingeholt”, so Ursula Blancke-Dau. Daraus entstand ein vielschichtiges Werk, welches die Künstlerin so persönlich wie allgemeingültig umgesetzt hat, mit Mitteln zwischen erzählendem Comic und explosiven Bildern freier Kunst. Die Bilder und Texte führen über das Einzelschicksal des Vaters hinaus und zeigen, wie Menschen in Diktatur und Krieg als Material und Masse verwendet wurden. Ein Thema, dass an Aktualität nicht verloren hat.

Topic sought for the Citizens’ Council 2026 // Feb 11 🗨️ [German]
A citizens’ council brings together people from all corners of the city who might otherwise never engage in conversation with one another. Together, they address an important issue for our city. They listen to experts, discuss, exchange ideas, and develop concrete recommendations for policymakers. What issue should the Lüneburg citizens’ council address this year? The city administration is now collecting topic suggestions for the next round. Citizens can submit their ideas from January 12 to February 22, 2026. Would you like to represent student interests and gain insight into administrative decision-making processes? Then apply to become a student member of the Administrative Board of the Studierendenwerk OstNiedersachsen. The role includes attending three meetings per year in Braunschweig, preparing for and contributing to business decisions, and regularly exchanging with student representatives. You will be elected by the Student Parliament. Members receive a fee of €50 per meeting. Applications are possible until the election on 11 February 2025 and are strongly encouraged at an early stage. There are good German skills required.

Archipel introductory meeting: Your ideas for an accessible university! // Feb 09 ☔️
At our open meeting, we will introduce ourselves to anyone who is interested! This is how we start the lecture-free period with fresh ideas and new projects. The perfect time to just come and check it out! We are happy to welcome new members to our (network). Because there is a need for spaces for exchange and empowerment for students with disabilities, chronic illnesses, as well as neurodivergent and mentally ill students.

Farewell from Leuphana! // Feb 09 🎤 [German]
After 31 years of research and teaching, Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart is leaving the university. To mark the occasion, a scientific symposium will take place this coming Monday from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., including a farewell lecture on the topic “Sustainability, Circular Economy, and Cradle to Cradle – How Do They Fit Together?”. From 7:30 p.m. onwards, there will be a concert by the Jewish Monkeys as a sign against antisemitism and in support of openness to the world, tolerance, and love of one’s fellow human beings. Bring good mood and friends with you!

BLACK SCREEN – Film series about Black perspectives // Feb 12  📺
Are you in the mood for a movie? Celebrating the Black History Month, curator and cultural studies student Naomi Jane Denis will be curating a series of selected films that focus on the cinematic representation of Black characters at the SCALA Programmkino Lüneburg cinema from 12 February to 5 March. The series kicks off with Moonlight (original version with subtitles) on 12 February at 7:30 p.m. Grab a friend and have a wonderful evening at the cinema. A collaboration with the Leuphana Afro Collective.

Free Community-supported-agriculture Shares from April on, veggie-pick-up at Commonszentrum // Feb 15 🍅
Hello Universitypeople, we are a community supported agriculture (CSA) growing veggies outside of Lüneburg. We Want to open a Veggie-Pick-Up for our members at commonszentrum and are looking for 30 more people to be part of our movement and eat our weekly fresh veggies. we try to open up an alternative to the capitalist way of growing and selling food. we stand for an antifashist, sustainable and solidarian cultivation on our farm. We start the new season in april, send an email (if possible till Feb 15) for more infos! . Our general meeting will also take place on March 2 at 6:30 p.m.

Themed tour at the Lüneburg Museum “OVERCOMING – Tattoos on Scars of the Past” // Feb 8 🖌️ [German]
The museum invites you to a Sunday story. Curator Jannik Sachweh, director of the Hospital Museum at Bremen-Ost Clinic, will guide visitors through the special exhibition “OVERCOME – Tattoos on Scars of the Past” and provide in-depth insights into its origins and content. In his themed tour, Sachweh will take a look at the cultural history of tattoos as art and the connection between culture and health in the present day. The historian will discuss changes in the approach to mental health as well as processes of stigmatization and normalization. As curator of the exhibition and director of the Bremen Hospital Museum, Jannik Sachweh will provide insights into the creation of the exhibition and its curatorial concept.

Reading at the Museum Lüneburg: Author and artist Ursula Blancke-Dau reads from her graphic novel “Klaus” // February 11 📚 [German]
The Museum Lüneburg invites you to a reading with Ursula Blancke-Dau. The versatile artist Ursula Blancke-Dau is not only a photographer, painter, graphic artist, and installation artist, but also an illustrator. In May 2025, her graphic novel “Klaus – noch einmal davongekommen. Eine Jugend unterm Hakenkreuz” (Klaus – Got Away Again. A Youth Under the Swastika) was published in May 2025 as part of the Museum Lüneburg series. In it, she tells the story of her father, who was drafted into military service in 1945 at the age of 16, shortly before the end of the war, and eventually ended up in Soviet captivity. His own memoirs served as the basis for her work. “They didn’t talk about it. They didn’t want to, they couldn’t. They suppressed it. But at night in their dreams, it caught up with them,” says Ursula Blancke-Dau. The result is a multi-layered work that the artist has rendered in a manner that is both personal and universal, using a combination of narrative comics and explosive images of free art. The images and texts go beyond the individual fate of the father and show how people were used as material and mass in dictatorship and war. A topic that has lost none of its relevance.
