AStA Newsletter schreiben ist ein bisschen wie die Person sein, die täglich 3 Reels schickt, aber keine Antwort, oder höchstens mal ein Like bekommt. Irgendwie entertaint es die andere Person, aber appreciation bleibt manchmal aus. Und per Mail gibt’s ja nicht einmal die ‘gelesen’ Funktion… Also schreibt doch gern mal ‘ne Mail-Antwort an einfach ohne Text mit eurem Lieblings-Emoji! Gern auch dazuschreiben, wenn ihr euch vorstellen könnt, hier ab Oktober die Mails zu verschicken. Es wird gemunkelt, die AStA Newsletter- und Kulturstelle wird ab September/Oktober frei.

Öko?logisch! Co-Working Brunch // 06.07. 💻
Die Vorlesungszeit ist fast vorbei und das bedeutet auch: der letzte vegane Brunch des Sommersemesters steht an. Kommt am Sonntag (6.7.) ab 12 Uhr zum Co-Working Brunch im PlanB! Wir besorgen wie immer die Brötchen und ihr dürft eure kreativsten Frühstücksleckereien und Lernsachen mitbringen. Bei angenehmer Atmosphäre und ganz viel Kaffee oder Tee frühstücken wir gemeinsam um im Anschluss gut gestärkt in die Prüfungsvorbereitungen zu starten. Bei gutem Wetter findet der Brunch draußen, vor Gebäude 9 statt. Denkt bitte an euer Geschirr und eure Lieblings Kaffee- oder Teetasse. Wir freuen uns auf euch! Euer Öko?logisch!

Workshop: How to discuss racism and antisemitism in your everyday life with IDA e.V. // 08.07. 👁️‍🗨️ [auf Englisch]
Das Informations- und Dokumentationszentrum für Antirassismusarbeit bietet (neben Anderem) Bildungsworkshops an, wie man kritische Arbeit gegen Rassismus und Antisemitismus miteinander verbinden kann. In diesem Workshop werden wir uns auf Beispiele von Rassismus und Antisemitismus aus dem täglichen Leben konzentrieren. In verschiedenen Gruppenaktivitäten werden wir Situationen analysieren und diskutieren, wie man Rassismus und Antisemitismus erkennt und wie man darauf reagieren kann. Wir werden auch ein Argumentationstraining durchführen, um dies zu üben. Teil der AStA Bildungsreihe zu Antisemitismus und Antimuslimischem Rassismus, mehr Infos hier.

Vakuum DJ-Workshop // 09.07. 🎛️
Zum Workshop? Zum Workshop! Der Workshop Wednesday geht in die zweite Runde! Dieses Mal beschäftigen wir uns mit Djing. Ihr habt Lust auflegen zu lernen und wenig bis keine Vorkenntnisse? Dann seid ihr hier richtig! Der Workshop ist explizit für Anfänger*Innen gestaltet und benötigt keine Vorkenntnisse. Dafür werden wir uns in einem ersten Block mit Fragen wie “Was ist überhaupt DJing?”, den Basics der zugrundeliegenden Musiktheorie und der benötigten Computersoftware auseinandersetzen und uns anschließend in einem zweiten Block in Gruppen von 2-3 Personen ganz praktisch an Controllern und DJ-Equipment ausprobieren. Anmeldung für max. 9 Personen gern über das folgende Formular.

AStA Sommer Open Air // 11.07. 🏓
Das AStA Sommer Open Air am 11.07.2025 ist der beste Semestertag Deutschlands, denn es ist auch der letzte. Ein Tag voller spaßiger Aktionsstände der vielen Referate und Initiativen und ein grandioser Abschluss mit drei Konzerten nacheinander. Alles für lau, weil wir es uns wert sind. Am Wochenende kommt nochmal ein Extra-Newsletter mit allen gebündelten Infos, quatratisch-praktisch-gut! Hier noch mehr Infos.

DRINGEND: Gutscheintausch gegen die Bezahlkarte in der Mensa // 08.07. 💳
Immer mehr geflüchtete Menschen in Lüneburg bekommen gerade die Bezahlkarte, mit der sie nur noch 50€ Bargeld im Monat abheben können. Um diese rassistisch motivierte Einschränkung zu sabotieren, veranstalten wir als ‘Lüneburg sagt NEIN zur Bezahlkarte’ Tauschcafés. Hier können Menschen mit Bezahlkarte Supermarkt-Gutscheine gegen Bargeld tauschen und Menschen ohne Bezahlkarte Bargeld gegen Gutscheine. Gerade ist es super dringend, bei unser letztes Tauschcafe mussten wir nach 1,5h abbrechen weil wir kein Bargeld mehr hatten! Du hast Lust, zu unterstützen? Komm zu unserem Stand am 08.07. von 11:30-14:00 vor der Mensa und bring mindestens 50€ in Bar mit zum Gutschein tauschen!

mosaique Festival für Vielfalt und Demokratie // 05.07. ⛅
Am Samstag, 5. Juli, wird es wieder bunt in der Innenstadt! Das mosaique Haus der Kulturen geht raus und veranstaltet einen kostenlosen Festivaltag im Rathausgarten in Lüneburg. Zwischen 17 & 21 Uhr treten drei Music Acts auf: Jenobi, Danubes Banks und Philip Richert & Daniel Stickan. Es gibt Beiträge im Potry Slam Style, Texte von migrantischen Frauen der LIVT Erzählwerkstatt, das Friedensprojekt 1000 Kraniche macht auf dem Festival Station, eine inklusive Tanzwerkstatt und Kreativangebote für jung und alt. Es gibt einen Crepes-Stand und Getränke und auch hier gilt: jede*r gibt was er/sie kann! Oder ihr bringt euer eigenes Picknick mit!

Tag des Reallabors: Neu Hagen macht Zukunft // 05.07. 🧪
Zukunft zum Anfassen! Wie kann Neu Hagen nachhaltiger und lebenswerter werden? Im Rahmen der bundesweiten Aktionswoche „Tage des Reallabors 2025“ werden die Türen verschiedener Reallabore geöffnet. Auch das Stadtviertel Neu Hagen in Lüneburg macht mit in Kooperation mit der Leuphana Universität Lüneburg. Studierende, Bürger*innen und Fachleute zeigen ihre Projekte – zum Anschauen, Austauschen und Weiterdenken. Mit dabei sind kreative Aktionen (u.a. Graffiti Sketching Workshop, offene Druckwerkstatt, Kurzfilmfestival), gutes Essen und Kultur für alle. Kommt vorbei, macht mit und stellt eure Fragen!

Leuphana Ensembles – Semesterabschlusskonzert // 08.07. 🎷
Das Musikzentrum der Leuphana Universität lädt herzlich zum Semesterabschlusskonzert am 08. Juli 2025 um 19:30 Uhr ins Libeskind Auditorium ein (Einlass ab 19:00 Uhr). Fünf Ensembles – Orchester, Camerata, Big Band, Chor und Kammerchor – präsentieren ein abwechslungsreiches Programm mit Klassik, Filmmusik, Jazz und Pop. Über 200 Mitwirkende bringen ihre semesterlange Probenarbeit auf die Bühne und feiern damit den musikalischen Höhepunkt des Sommersemesters. Tickets sind online erhältlich hier.

Vortrag: Pornografie und Sexuelle Selbstbestimmung // 08.07. 🚩
Pornographie ist ein tabuisiertes und gleichzeitig populärkulturelles Massenphänomen. Auch ihre rechtliche Bewertung und die Kritik daran ist spannungsreich. Im Vortrag erläutere ich eine interdisziplinär fundierte Kritik des Pornographiestrafrechts, die sich strikt am Maßstab der Gewährleistung sexueller Selbstbestimmung orientiert. Neben dem herkömmlichen Schutz vor der Wahrnehmung pornographischer Inhalte werden auch die Problematiken der bildbasierten sexualisierten Gewalt und der sexuellen Belästigung  mittels sexualbezogener Inhalte erörtert. Ein Vortrag von PD Dr. Anja Schmidt.

KI und die Demokratie: Macht, Partizipation und politische Autorität // 09.07. 🌍 [auf Englisch]
Du hast Lust etwas zum Thema Einfluss von künstlicher Intelligenz auf Demokratien zu erfahren? Dann komm zum Vortrag mit anschließender Diskussion mit Dr. Sangeeta Mahapatra vom GIGA Institut Hamburg. Es soll darum gehen, wie künstliche Intelligenz die Grundlagen demokratischer Regierungsführung umgestaltet. Inwiefern verlagert KI die Autorität von öffentlichen Institutionen auf private Technologieplattformen? Welche Auswirkungen hat das auf Rechenschaftspflichten, Transparenz und Kontrolle? Außerdem wollen wir einen Blick auf aktuelle politische Debatten werfen, sowie Regulierungsbemühungen und demokratische Antworten auf den wachsenden Einfluss von KI auf das öffentliche Leben betrachten.

Heinrich Mann lauscht in Nizza dem Radio, Anna Seghers flieht aus Paris, Lion Feuchtwanger sitzt interniert, während die SS näher rückt. In Marseille suchen viele verzweifelt einen Weg in die Freiheit, darunter auch Walter Benjamin und Hannah Arendt. Varian Fry rettet mutig Verfolgte vor der Gestapo.
Uwe Wittstock erzählt eindrucksvoll von Flucht, Hoffnung und Menschlichkeit in düsterer Zeit. Er ist Journalist und Autor, u. a. für die FAZ, den Focus und Die Welt, ausgezeichnet mit dem Theodor-Wolff-Preis.

Open-Air Musical: Die Blues Brothers live im Kurpark // 14.-17.08. 🎩
Elwood und Jake sind „im Auftrag des Herrn“ unterwegs – jetzt auch auf der Bühne des Lüneburger Sommernachtstheaters. Acht Darsteller*innen und eine sechsköpfige Liveband bringen den Kultfilm als rasantes Musical auf die Open-Air-Bühne: mit Hits wie „Everybody Needs Somebody to Love“ und „Jailhouse Rock“, jeder Menge Chaos und dem legendären Bluesmobil. In Kooperation mit der Campus Management GmbH entsteht im Kurpark ein unvergesslicher Theaterabend – für Tourist:innen und Lüneburger:innen gleichermaßen.

Heyhey,
writing AStA newsletters is a bit like being the person who sends 3 reels a day but doesn’t get a reply, maybe a like once in a while. Somehow it entertains the other person, but there’s still a lack of appreciation. And there’s not even a ‘read’ function by email… So why not write an email reply to simply without text using your favorite emoji! You are also welcome to write if you can imagine sending the mails here starting in October. Rumor has it that the AStA newsletter and culture office will be vacant from September/October.

Öko?logisch! Co-Working Brunch // 06.07. 💻
The lecture period nearly comes to an end and this also means it is time for the last Öko?logisch vegan brunch of the summer semester. Join us on Sunday (6.7.) at 12 pm for our co-working brunch in the Plan B! As always, we will get the bread rolls and you can bring your most creative breakfast specialties and of course your studying material! With a nice atmosphere and plenty of coffee and tea, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast together before starting our study session. Weather permitting, the brunch will take place outside, in front of building 9. Please remember your dishes and your favorite coffee or tea cup. We look forward to seeing you there!

Workshop: How to discuss racism and antisemitism in your everyday life with IDA e.V. // 08.07. 👁️‍🗨️
The Informations- und Dokumentationszentrum für Antirassismusarbeit offers (among other things) eduaction on how to connect critical work against racism and antisemitism. In this workshop we will focus on examples of racism and antisemitism from everyday life. In different group activities we will analyse situations and discuss how to recognize racism and antisemitism and possible reactions. We will also do some argumentation training to practice that. Vakuum DJ-Workshop // 09.07. 🎛️
To the workshop? To the workshop! Workshop Wednesday is back for round two! This time, we’ll be diving into the world of DJing. Interested in learning how to DJ but have little to no experience? Then this is the place for you!
The workshop is specifically designed for beginners and requires no prior knowledge. In the first part, we’ll explore questions like “What is DJing anyway?”, cover the basics of music theory, and look into the necessary computer software. In the second part, we’ll split into small groups of 2-3 people (max. 9) to get hands-on experience with controllers and DJ equipment. Please use this link to register.

The AStA Summer Open Air on 11.07.2025 is the best day of the semester in Germany, because it’s also the last. A day full of fun activity stands from the many departments and initiatives and a grand finale with three concerts in a row. All for free, because we’re worth it. We’ll be sending out another extra newsletter at the weekend with all the information you need! More info here.

URGENT: Voucher exchange against the Bezahlkarte at the mensa // 08.07. 🪪
More and more refugees in Lüneburg are currently receiving payment cards that only allow them to withdraw €50 in cash per month. To sabotage this racially motivated restriction, we at Lüneburg says NO to payment cards are organising exchange cafés. Here, people with payment cards can exchange supermarket vouchers for cash, and people without payment cards can exchange cash for vouchers. It is extremely urgent right now – Come to our stand on 8 July from 11:30 to 14:00 in front of the cafeteria and bring at least €50 in cash to exchange vouchers!

mosaique Festival for Diversity and Democracy // 05.07. ⛅
On Saturday, 5 July, it will be colourful again in the city centre! The mosaique Haus der Kulturen organises a free festival day in the town hall garden in Lüneburg. Three music acts will be performing between 5 & 9 pm: Jenobi, Danubes Banks and Philip Richert & Daniel Stickan. There will be contributions in potry slam style, texts by migrant women from the LIVT storytelling workshop, the 1000 Cranes peace project will make a stop at the festival, an inclusive dance workshop and creative activities for young and old. There´ll be a crepe-stand or bring your own picnic! everythingdonationbased.

Day of Living Labs 2025: Neu Hagen makes Future // 05.07. 🧪
The future you can touch! How can the city district of Neu Hagen become more sustainable and liveable? As part of the nationwide campaign week “Days of the Real-World Laboratory 2025”, the doors of various real-world laboratories will be opened. The Neu Hagen district in Lüneburg is also taking part in cooperation with Leuphana University Lüneburg. Students, citizens and experts will be presenting their projects – for viewing, exchanging ideas and thinking ahead. There will be creative activities (including a graffiti sketching workshop, open printing workshop, short film festival), good food and culture for everyone. Come by!

Leuphana Ensembles – end of semester concert // 08.07. 🎷
The Leuphana University Music Center cordially invites you to the end-of-semester concert on July 8, 2025 at 7:30 pm in the Libeskind Auditorium (admission from 7:00 pm). Five ensembles – orchestra, camerata, big band, choir and chamber choir – will present a varied program of classical music, film music, jazz and pop. Over 200 performers bring their semester-long rehearsals to the stage to celebrate the musical highlight of the summer semester. Tickets are available online.

Lecture: Pornography and sexual self-determination // 08.07. 🚩 [in German]
Pornography is both a taboo and a popular cultural mass phenomenon. Its legal assessment and criticism is also fraught with tension. In this lecture, I will explain an interdisciplinary critique of pornography criminal law that is strictly oriented towards the standard of guaranteeing sexual self-determination. In addition to the conventional protection against the perception of pornographic content, the problems of image-based sexualized violence and sexual harassment by means of sex-related content will also be discussed. A lecture by PD Dr. Anja Schmidt.

The most dramatic year in German literary history: in 1940, numerous writers fled from the Nazis. Heinrich Mann listens to the radio in Nice, Anna Seghers flees Paris, Lion Feuchtwanger is interned while the SS close in. In Marseille, many are desperately seeking a way to freedom, including Walter Benjamin and Hannah Arendt. Varian Fry courageously rescues persecuted people from the Gestapo.
Uwe Wittstock tells an impressive story of escape, hope and humanity in dark times. He is a journalist and author for the FAZ, Focus and Die Welt, among others, and has been awarded the Theodor Wolff Prize.

Eight performers and a six-piece live band bring the cult film to the open-air stage as a fast-paced musical: with hits such as “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love” and “Jailhouse Rock”, plenty of chaos and the legendary Bluesmobile. In cooperation with Campus Management GmbH, an unforgettable evening of theater is created in the Kurpark – for tourists and Lüneburgers alike.
