Tag der Befreiung vom Nationalsozialismus \/\/ 08.05. \ud83d\udd6f\ufe0f
<\/strong>Am 8. Mai 2025 j\u00e4hrt sich zum 80. Mal der Sieg der Alliierten \u00fcber die deutsche Wehrmacht und \u00fcber den Faschismus und mit ihm die Befreiung der in den KZs, Vernichtungslagern und Gef\u00e4ngnissen noch lebenden Menschen und aller durch die Nazis unterdr\u00fcckten und verfolgten Personen. F\u00fcr die europ\u00e4ische Bev\u00f6lkerung bedeutete es die Befreiung von Faschismus und Krieg. L\u00fcneburg ist wenige Tage vorher am 18.04.1945 von den Britischen Truppen befreit worden. Auch hier bedeutete der Einmarsch der Alliierten in die Stadt das Ende von Verfolgung und Bedrohung von L\u00fcneburger B\u00fcrger*innen, die nicht in das verbrecherische Weltbild der Nazis passten.
Dar\u00fcber hinaus spielte L\u00fcneburg bei der Beendigung des zweiten Weltkrieges eine wichtige Rolle: Auf dem Timeloberg bei Wendisch Evern wurde am 4. Mai 1945 der Beginn des Friedens eingeleitet.
Gerade heute, in Zeiten, in denen rechte, geschichtsrevisionistische Positionen lauter und lauter werden, muss der 8. Mai eine klare Ansage sein: Nie wieder Faschmismus, nie wieder Krieg! Wir als AStA erkl\u00e4ren den 8. Mai deshalb zum Feiertag & fordern die Uni auf, das auch zu tun, um Raum f\u00fcr Gedenken, Aufkl\u00e4rung & Mahnung zu schaffen und klare Haltung gegen den Faschismus zu zeigen, um die Vergangenheit reflektieren!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kritische Campustour \/\/ 08.05. \ud83e\ude96<\/strong>
Unser Campus ist eine ehemalige Kriegskaserne, doch das f\u00e4llt heute kaum noch auf. Die Vergangenheit wurde vielerorts unsichtbar gemacht. Die ehemalige Scharnhorst-Kaserne wurde 1936 errichtet und beherbergte Soldaten zu Zeiten des Nationalsozialismus. Ihr wollt mehr dazu erfahren? Wir bieten kommende Woche Donnerstag um 14 Uhr eine kritische Campustour, in der wir euch ein paar Dinge zur Nazivergangenheit des Gel\u00e4ndes erz\u00e4hlen und zeigen.

Um diesen 80. Jahrestag als Tag der Befreiung\u00a0 zu feiern haben sich initiiert von der VVN-BdA viele L\u00fcneburger Initiativen, Verb\u00e4nde, Vereine und Parteien zusammengefunden. Auf dem Marktplatz wird es von 15-19 Uhr ein buntes Fest mit kulturellen Beitr\u00e4gen von L\u00fcneburger K\u00fcnstler*innen, Gespr\u00e4chsangeboten sowie interaktiven Mitmachaktionen geben.\u00a0

Podiumsdiskussion zum Kriegsende \/\/ 08.05. \ud83c\udfa4<\/strong>
Am 8. Mai findet im Rahmen der Veranstaltungsreihe \u201eEthik im Gespr\u00e4ch\u201c eine Podiumsdiskussion im H\u00f6rsaal 5 statt. Unter der \u00dcberschrift \u201eBefreiung – wovon und wozu?\u201c geht es dann 80 Jahre nach dem 8. Mai 1945 um Fragen der Erinnerungskultur. Die wurde 1985 durch den damaligen Bundespr\u00e4sidenten Richard von Weizs\u00e4cker und seine Aussage gepr\u00e4gt, Deutschland sei vom Nationalsozialismus befreit worden. Heute sind viele der Meinung, dass jetzt ein Schlussstrich unter die Vergangenheit gezogen werden sollte. Miteinander diskutieren werden die beiden Leuphana-Wissenschaftler Prof. Dr. Tobias Lenz vom Institut f\u00fcr Politikwissenschaft und Prof. Dr. Thomas K\u00fcck vom Institut f\u00fcr Ethik und Theologie.

Am Sonntag, 18. Mai, gibt es ab 15 Uhr auf dem Marktplatz rund zweieinhalb Stunden lang eine Mischung aus Mahnung, Mitmachaktionen und ganz viel Musik. <\/strong>Alle studentisch Besch\u00e4ftigten an der Uni sind eingeladen. Wir wehren uns gegen prek\u00e4re Arbeitsverh\u00e4ltnisse in der Wissenschaft. Wir holen uns einen Tarifvertrag (genannt TV STUD), der einen h\u00f6heren Mindestlohn, ein Ende der Kettenbefristungen und mehr Urlaub. SHKs leisten essentielle Arbeit, werden aber als Sachmittel abgerechnet, nicht als Mitarbeitende. <\/strong>Die Thomas Mann-Gesellschaft Hamburg schreibt aktuell zum dritten Mal den Erika und Klaus Mann-Preis f\u00fcr junge Autoren und Autorinnen aus. Das Motto oder Thema des Wettbewerbs lautet: In einer neuen Welt. Bewerben k\u00f6nnen sich alle zwischen 16 und 27 Jahren, die in der Metropolregion Hamburg wohnen. Eigereicht werden k\u00f6nnen Kurzgeschichten oder Essays von bis zu 15 Seiten. <\/strong>Die Ausstellung nimmt die Besucher*innen mit auf eine Zeitreise in die letzten Tage des Zweiten Weltkriegs. Vor genau 80 Jahren, am 3. und 4. Mai 1945, traf sich nahe L\u00fcneburg eine deutsche Delegation mit britischen Milit\u00e4rvertretern in der Villa H\u00e4cklingen und auf dem Timeloberg. Dort wurde die bedingungslose Kapitulation der Wehrmacht f\u00fcr Nordwestdeutschland, D\u00e4nemark und die Niederlande unterzeichnet \u2013 ein bedeutender Schritt hin zum Kriegsende in Europa.

JazzIG Konzert: Jakob B\u00e4nsch Quartett \/\/ 09.05. \ud83c\udfba<\/strong>
<\/strong>Mit \u201eOpening\u201c ist Jakob B\u00e4nsch ein erstaunliches Deb\u00fct gelungen. Das Album wurde im April 2024 als Deb\u00fct-Album des Jahres mit dem Deutschen Jazzpreis ausgezeichnet. Die Band schafft es m\u00fchelos zwischen kammerjazziger Verhaltenheit und kr\u00e4ftig moderner Energie ihren eigenen Weg zu finden. Alles klingt zug\u00e4nglich, aber nicht nach Zugest\u00e4ndnis, musikalisch mitten im kunstvoll modernen Jazz und zugleich unabh\u00e4ngig davon. Mit seiner aktuellen Band, dem \u201eJakob B\u00e4nsch Quartett\u201c, stellte er sein Deb\u00fct-Album auf renommierten B\u00fchnen und Festivals wie den Leverkusener Jazztagen, Jazz Baltica, der Cologne Jazzweek oder den JazzOpen Stuttgart vor \u2013 und jetzt hier bei der JazzIG L\u00fcneburg.

MusicalLabor: Spieglein, Spieglein, was ist sch\u00f6n? \/\/ ab 16.05. \ud83e\ude9e<\/strong>
<\/strong>Auf Instagram betrachten wir uns und andere tagt\u00e4glich. Als Spiegel eines digitalen Zeitalters werden wir st\u00e4ndig mit der Frage konfrontiert: \u201eBin ich sch\u00f6n genug?\u201c Was bedeutet es, als sch\u00f6n oder gutaussehend wahrgenommen zu werden? In Anlehnung an Liv Str\u00f6mquists Comic \u201eSpiegelsaal\u201c und als Neuschreibung des klassischen M\u00e4rchenstoffs \u201eSchneewittchen\u201c widersetzen wir uns diesem Diktat des Aussehens und r\u00e4umen auf mit idealisierten Vorstellungen. Daf\u00fcr steht ein ganzes Genre zur Verf\u00fcgung: It\u2018s time for musicals! Mit einem Mix aus klassischen Musical- und aktuellen Pop-Songs haben wir eine Musikshow zur Feier aller K\u00f6rper in ihrer Diversit\u00e4t und Unterschiedlichkeit erarbeitet. Day of Liberation from National Socialism \/\/ May 8 \ud83d\udd6f\ufe0f<\/strong>
May 8, 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the Allied victory over the German Wehrmacht and fascism, and with it the liberation of those still living in concentration camps, extermination camps and prisons and of all those oppressed and persecuted by the Nazis. For the European population, it meant liberation from fascism and war. L\u00fcneburg had been liberated by British troops a few days earlier on April 18, 1945. Here, too, the Allied invasion of the city meant the end of persecution and threats against L\u00fcneburg citizens who did not fit into the criminal world view of the Nazis.\u00a0
L\u00fcneburg also played an important role in the end of the Second World War: the beginning of peace was heralded on May 4, 1945 on the Timeloberg near Wendisch Evern.
Especially today, in times when right-wing, historical revisionist positions are becoming louder and later, May 8 must be a clear statement: Never again fascism, never again war! We as AStA therefore declare May 8 a public holiday & call on the university to do the same in order to create space for remembrance, education & reminder and to show a clear stance against fascism in order to reflect on the past!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Critical campus tour \/\/ 08.05. \ud83e\ude96
<\/strong>Our campus is a former war barracks, but this is hardly noticeable today. The past has been made invisible in many places. The former Scharnhorst barracks were built in 1936 and housed soldiers during the National Socialist era. Want to find out more? We are offering a critical campus tour next week on Thursday at 2pm, in which we will tell and show you a few things about the site’s Nazi past.\u00a0

Many L\u00fcneburg initiatives, associations, clubs and parties have come together to celebrate this 80th anniversary as Liberation Day, initiated by the VVN-BdA. There will be a colorful festival on the market square from 3-7 pm with cultural contributions from L\u00fcneburg artists, talks and interactive hands-on activities.\u00a0

Panel discussion on the end of the war \/\/ May 8 \ud83c\udfa4 [in German]<\/strong>
On May 8, a panel discussion will take place in Lecture Hall 5 as part of the \u201cEthics in Conversation\u201d series of events. Under the heading \u201cLiberation – from what and for what?\u201d, the discussion will focus on questions of remembrance culture 80 years after May 8, 1945. This was shaped in 1985 by the then Federal President Richard von Weizs\u00e4cker and his statement that Germany had been liberated from National Socialism. Today, many are of the opinion that a line should now be drawn under the past. The two Leuphana academics Prof. Dr. Tobias Lenz from the Institute of Political Science and Prof. Dr. Thomas K\u00fcck from the Institute of Ethics and Theology will discuss this topic together.

On Sunday, May 18, there will be a mixture of remembrance, hands-on activities and lots of music on the market square for around two and a half hours from 3 pm. <\/strong>Next Friday is the day. lunatic Festival goes Hamburg. Celebrate the start of the festival season with us – it will be fast, loud and colorful! Fighting for collective bargaining for student workers at Leuphana \/\/ 05.05. \ud83d\udea9<\/strong>
<\/strong>All student employees at the university are invited. We are fighting against precarious working conditions in academia. We are demanding a collective bargaining agreement (called TV STUD) that includes a higher minimum wage, an end to chain fixed-term contracts, and more vacation time. SHKs perform essential work, but are counted as resources rather than employees. Find out what we need to do next to secure the collective agreement and how you can help this summer at our meetings, preferably at our first one:) Of course, not only SHKs are invited, but all students who support us!

The Thomas Mann Society Hamburg is currently announcing the Erika and Klaus Mann Prize for young authors for the third time. The motto or theme of the competition is: In a new world. Anyone between the age of 16 and 27 who lives in the Hamburg metropolitan region can apply. Short stories or essays of up to 15 pages can be submitted. The prizes awarded by an independent jury are \u20ac2,000 for first place and \u20ac1,000 each for second and third place. Guided tour of the special exhibition \u201cSurrender 45 – L\u00fcneburg in the focus of world attention\u201d \/\/ 04.05. \ud83d\udd4a\ufe0f [in German]<\/strong>
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through time to the final days of the Second World War. Exactly 80 years ago, on May 3 and 4, 1945, a German delegation met with British military representatives near L\u00fcneburg in the Villa H\u00e4cklingen and on the Timeloberg. The unconditional surrender of the Wehrmacht for north-west Germany, Denmark and the Netherlands was signed there – a significant step towards the end of the war in Europe.

JazzIG concert: Jakob B\u00e4nsch Quartet \/\/ 09.05. \ud83c\udfba<\/strong>
Jakob B\u00e4nsch has made an amazing debut with \u201cOpening\u201d. The album was awarded the German Jazz Prize as Debut Album of the Year in April 2024. The band effortlessly manages to find its own way between chamber jazz restraint and powerful modern energy. Everything sounds accessible, but not like a concession, musically in the middle of artfully modern jazz and at the same time independent of it. With his current band, the \u201cJakob B\u00e4nsch Quartett\u201d, he presented his debut album on renowned stages and festivals such as the Leverkusener Jazztage, Jazz Baltica, the Cologne Jazzweek or the JazzOpen Stuttgart – and now here at the JazzIG L\u00fcneburg.

MusicalLabor: Mirror, mirror, what is beautiful? \/\/ from 16.05. \ud83e\ude9e\u00a0<\/strong>
We look at ourselves and others on Instagram every day. As a mirror of a digital age, we are constantly confronted with the question: \u201cAm I beautiful enough?\u201d What does it mean to be perceived as beautiful or good-looking? Based on Liv Str\u00f6mquist’s comic \u201cHall of Mirrors\u201d and as a rewriting of the classic fairy tale \u201cSnow White\u201d, we resist this dictate of appearance and do away with idealized notions. An entire genre is available for this: It’s time for musicals! With a mix of classic musicals and current pop songs, we have created a musical show to celebrate all bodies in all their diversity and variety. Singing, playing and dancing, we reclaim our bodies (and our view of them)!
